The U.S. DOT Headquarters is located at the corner of M Street and New Jersey Avenue, Southeast, Washington, DC. The building is across M Street from the Navy Yard exit from the Navy Yard Metrorail Station. The physical address for DOT Headquarters is: 1200 New Jersey Avenue, S.E., Washington, DC 20590

Metrorail and Metrobus
Due to the limited amount of parking around DOT Headquarters, we strongly urge you to use public transit. DOT Headquarters is served by the Navy Yard (Green lines) and Metrobus Routes [Pending update; please check back later]. Use the Ride Guide for specific directions, schedules, travel times and fares.
If you are using Metrorail, please follow these directions:

Get on the front car of the Green Line, traveling toward Branch Avenue.

Get off at the Navy Yard Metrorail Station and leave by the "Navy Yard," rather than the "Half Street," exit.
- From the top of the escalators, you will see the facade of the West Building diagonally across M Street. Cross M Street and New Jersey at the lights and enter the front entrance to the West Building. (Note: If you have difficulty with steps, we suggest the long ramp that leads from near the corner of M Street and New Jersey avenue to the front doors.)

Check in at the security desk, just inside the lobby. If you do not have a Department of Transportation badge, you will need a building escort. Please call in advance to one of the following officers, who will arrange an escort:
